sic-AnalysesQuantification of a list of molecules in order to, among other things, determine the heterogeneity of a protein sample caused by known post-translational modifications and/or side reactions. The term sic-analysis is derived from the term ’specific ion current’. The method is based on a special kind of particularly specific ion current chromatograms and allows for extremely reliable automated identification. As in the case of pepmap-analyses, sic-analyses are not restricted to peptide maps. They can be applied for any type of molecules.
